Barnardo’s NI works for children first and last. In over 100 years we have helped improve the lives and opportunities of tens of thousands of children in communities across Northern Ireland. We work wherever children need us most.

Barnardo’s NI Schools Programme

Barnardo’s NI schools Programmes operates across two clusters of schools in the Greater Falls and Upper Springfield areas and is funded by the Full Service Community Network and Extended Schools.

We work in a total of 29 schools:

Upper Springfield: 9 schools including Nursery, Primary ad Irish Medium.

Greater Falls: 20 schools including Nursery, Primary, Post Primary and Irish Medium

The programme provide education support on a 1:1 basis and group work support on literacy and numeracy, transition support across the key stages, early years Irish Medium support and parent support.

It also delivers the full Incredible Years Series which is designed to promote emotional and social competence in children aged 2-12 years, improve parenting confidence,  parent/child relationships and teacher classroom management.

The Incredible Years Series includes:

  • Schools Readiness
  • Incredible Years Parent Programme
  • Dina Therapeutic Programme
  • Teacher Classroom Management Programme.

There are also two Extended Schools Co-coordinators who actively support and deliver appropriate services and programmes to children and families on a need based approach/
